Bart van Aalst

Data scientist at BigData Republic

As an experienced data science consultant Bart has seen the good and the bad of data science. He has successfully developed Machine Learning products for several large corporations, such as ProRail, Albert Heijn, and KLM. His learnings from these experiences are collected in the co-authored whitepaper from big data to big value, describing the key success factors for data science projects. Bart aims to make a difference through his perseverance, pragmatism, and structured way of working, but he also does not shy away from deep theoretical discussions on topics such as uncertainty and causality. Currently, he is responsible for the development of ML models to predict future bottlenecks in the energy supply to trains for ProRail.

At the Dutch Data Summit Bart will host the workshop From Big Data to Big Value with co-host Loek Gerrits.
