Ronald Damhof

Chief Data Officer at the Ministry of Justice and Security

Ronald Damhof graduated in Economic Science at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. He has more than 20 years' experience in the area of enterprise, information and data-architecture. He teaches Enterprise Architecture part-time at Nyenrode Business University and he is a teacher for the CDO course of IIR Research. Ronald is a well-known public speaker and auditor in the field of information and data architecture, data strategy, data quality and governance.

In the course of his career, Ronald has translated data-architecture to the strategic level of decision-making and the enterprise architecture. The relation can always be traced back to the goals of the organization, without losing sight of make-ability and feasibility. In addition, he pays particular attention to the delicate balance between innovating with data and safeguarding privacy and ethics. Data management and data governance also form part of his competencies. He has proved this in many data-intensive sectors. In his role he is often the expert counterpart and trusted advisor of the senior executives (decision-making process), the storyteller and enfant terrible, and he provides the supervision of the required transformations up to the level of the engineer.

In 2021, Ronald was awarded the DAMA Excellence award by DAMA International.
